The Ice House Student Success Program is a student success course designed to inspire and engage college students with the perseverance and determination of an entrepreneurial mindset needed to succeed academically and in life. Ice House Entrepreneurship Program: Workforce Edition

The Entrepreneurial Mindset in Albuquerque from MediaDesk NM on Vimeo is an example of what The Entrepreneurial Mindset Training can do in Workforce Development. A recent Gallup poll found that out of 25 million workers, worldwide, only 13% feel engaged by their jobs. In the U.S. 70% of workers are emotionally disconnected from their workplaces, indicated by this ratio of engaged to actively disengaged employees is roughly 2-1. Jobs are not big enough for people because of an inherent human yearning for meaningful work – an assignment worthy of one’s whole-hearted effort.

ice house bookWho Owns the Ice House?

Based on his own life story, Pulitzer nominee Clifton Taulbert teams up with thought leader Gary Schoeniger to create Who Owns The Ice House? – a powerful and compelling story that captures the essence of an entrepreneurial mindset, its universal application and the unlimited opportunities it can provide. Clifton Taulbert and Gary Schoeniger tell the amazing story of Clifton’s Uncle Cleve who taught him first hand the discipline of entrepreneurship. At a time where people where still picking cotton, this man, Uncle Cleve, was taking money to the bank. His lessons carried Clifton Taulbert so far in life that he was able to publish his own books and even a movie! This book has been read by thousands internationally including the Pikes Peak Library District in Colorado where over 23,000 residents read this book together. That’s the type of impact everyday people like Uncle Cleve can have in your community as well. Consider “Who Owns the Ice House?” as your next book read. Then, let’s find your Uncle Cleve in your community. For more information on upcoming reading events, please email training@iispire.com.
